Elizabeth Hoffman earned her D.M.A. and M.M. in flute performance at the University of Oregon where she studied with Richard Trombley. She received her B.A. from the University of Minnesota, Morris. Elizabeth’s other teachers include Walfrid Kujala, Donald Peck, Bernard Goldberg, Mary Karen Clardy, Christina Smith, Michel Debost, John Solum, and Janet See. Elizabeth is an active recitalist and chamber musician in the Eugene/Springfield area and has also performed with the Oregon Mozart Players, the Corvallis Symphony, and the Oregon Festival of American Music. Liz also instructs at LCC, has an active private music stidio, and participates in the Music Matters program Agnes Stewart Middle School.
Lessons are held with Michael McCarthy, a local performer, educator, and composer at Harmony Road House Studios. Topics covered will be reading, ear training, soloing, technique, composing, lyric work, performance etiquette, song learning, and equipment fundamentals. Michael holds a Masters in the Art of Teaching.
