Melody has been playing drums and guitar since 1992 and has been teaching since 1999. She has directed several music programs and played in several bands. She has formal training in Audio Engineering and loves to learn, as well as teach. Her teaching approach is based on her student’s learning style and interests. You'll learn fundamentals as well as practical application in the music that moves you. She typically works with ages 10 and up, but can make exceptions.
Joshua studied percussion performance at James Madison University and has taught marching percussion with several High schools in Virginia. Joshua has experience in many areas of percussion including rudimental drumming, keyboard percussion, orchestral percussion, and drum set. He enjoys working with students to develop an understanding of the breadth of percussion music and a love of learning through a study of fundamental percussion techniques and their applications in music which excites and challenges them. He welcomes students of all backgrounds and experience levels to join him and work together to achieve their musical goals.
Having graduated from The University of Iowa in 2010 with a degree in Percussion Performance and Music Education, Rob has been teaching both privately and in classrooms for over a decade. With experience in everything from General Music to 5th-12th grade Band and Musical Theater, Rob is capable of teaching any age and/or experience level. His topmost strength is teaching drums and percussion, but he is also proficient in teaching most woodwinds and brass as well as audio engineering and production.
